Community Service Center
Adventist Community Services meets people’s immediate needs through social services such as tutoring and mentoring programs, Youth Volunteer Corps, health screening education and assistance, inner city missions, and disaster response.
The Buffalo SDA Church currently is involved in:
Yearly donations to ADRA & various projects around the world.
Signs Magazine: We have purchased 3 boxes that are placed around town that we distribute free Signs magazines as well as various evangelical books and pamphlets, spreading the love of God to our community. It has been very well received!
Food Pantry: Each Friday evening, a two-member team man the local food pantry which provides food and necessities to needy in our area.
Jail Ministry: The men in our church have started a jail visiting ministry on Sabbath afternoons and Wednesday evenings. They meet with inmates who have expressed an interest in spiritual encouragement. The men uplift and pray with these inmates. Members of our church have also taken up a writing campaign to encourage these men and pray for their families.
Visits: We have tried to visit either a nursing home, VA, or home-bound elderly each Sabbath. It has been a tremendous blessing to all involved!
Letter Campaign: Our church has a burden for former Adventist members. The first Sabbath afternoon of the month, we will write notes and send Signs magazines our former members, praying over this monthly greeting.
